I'm in the middle of the DVDs of the first and only season of the sci-fi series firefly. It's a funny, nice looking series. Lots of variety of locations and looks.

There are a few particulars I was wondering about and someone or another here always seems to know the answers:

35mm, right? It seems to have that look but I've been surprised before.

What lenses and filtration, anyone know? There is a huge variety of flares in the show and I'm wondering if they're natural and they chose lenses with that in mind because they liked the look or if they're just added in post to be cool.

Those are multicoated or are they old enough to be single coated?

I watched another episode and in one scene someone has a very hot (burnt out white) edge across his shoulder and neck and there was a little double image of it.

I like the look a lot in places.

In a related story, did anyone see "Serenity"? And was it supposed to be funny? I laughed the entire time. It was like a 2 hour Buffy episode.

Of course! You would expect no less from Joss Whedon. He's the man for mixing dark and funny into a unique blend. Angel was one of my favorite shows...
