Clint Nitkiewicz Hernandez
Okay, so does a 28mm lens keep everything in focus always? If i want to shoot a landscape shot with someone walking in the foreground full frame from far away, would something be out of focus with the 28mm? I know a 35mm something has to be slightly out of focus, am I right?
Mike Lary
You need to consult depth of field charts to determine what will be in focus. It depends on the focal length, the focus mark you set the lens to, the f-stop (or t-stop) and the circle of confusion (referring to the size of your film plane or ccd). You can find that information with a chart made specifically for your lens, in the ASC Manual and other reference books, or by using PCAM software that can run on PalmOS or PalmOS emulator that you can run on your computer. Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted November 5, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2007 Okay, so does a 28mm lens keep everything in focus always? Short answer is no, unless the subject stays at a certain distance in a wide shot, doesn't get close. Or if you completely stop-down the lens and let the depth of field cover a bigger spread. The longer answer is what Mike Lary just said.
