Guest ariel
Do anyone know what kind of film stock did Rodrigo Prieto used for shooting Amoress perros. What gave it this contrastive look? Is it reversal?
Premium Member Wendell_Greene Posted February 8, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted February 8, 2004 The "Daniel & Valeria " segment of Amores Perros was shot on Kodak 5246 250DE and 5279 500 T. The "El Chivo and Manu" and "Octavio and Susanna" segments were shot on Kodak 5289 800T both of which had the skip bleach process applied to the negative. Those two segments were lit using real fluorescent bulbs -cool white and warm whites in the frame. In addition to film stock and lab techniques, much of the look can be contributed to coordination of cinematography, art direction, and costume design in pre-production under the eye of director Iannitu. The filmmakers push these elements to an even further degree when working together again on "21 Grams. Prieto shot "Amores Perros" with a Moviecam XL camera using Zeiss Superspeeds 14mm, 18mm and 25mm primes and shooting mostly handheld, although the camera is more static in the "Daniel and Valeria" segment. He used an Angieneaux 25mm-250HR Zoom in the "El Chivo" segment to further isolate the character from his environment. Prieto used 9 cameras to photograph the car crash, which was shot at dusk. The visual reference for the film were the still photographs of photographer Nan Goldin.
