Premium Member Hal Smith Posted November 10, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted November 10, 2007 is there enough backfocus distance on these cameras? has anybody heard of adaptors for the bncr to the eclair or arri 2c? No adapter for an Arri 2 but one could get a hardfront conversion. There are a fair number of Arri 2's that were converted to BNCR.
kevin jackman
i would think that an adaptor would be no big deal
Leo Anthony Vale
i would think that an adaptor would be no big deal The flange focus isn't the only consideration. The diameter. A BNC hardfront on a IIC has to have part of the shutter covering machined off for it to fit. The lock on the Std Arri mts is two spring loaded blades. Not very robust. Most BNCR mount Super Baltars are actually S35R mounts with a BNCR adaptor permanantly locked on. It might be possible to machine an S35R>PL adapter. I'm not sure about the width of the S35R mts .
