Premium Member Tony Brown Posted August 24, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 I always rated 18 at 500 and often rate 19 at 1000. I prefer to give heavy exposures and dig in TK if necessary - Tony hmmm.. rating 19 higher (1000EI) will render a thinner Neg... why would you call that a 'heavy exposure? Rating 19 at 250EI would render a 'heavy exposure'... (a Thicker Neg).. rating it at 1000EI will deliver a thinner Neg... seems like you prefer 'thinner' exposures if you like to dig in TK... Sorry David my terminology was confusing If I rate the stock on my meter at 1000 it'll come in a stop under (Heavy exposure for me is referring to the T stop not the amount of light given) = thin neg (my preference). My choice of words was poor. Good job I never actually change the meter eh?
Premium Member Tony Brown Posted August 24, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 i see...the problem is that we might go for a 35 mm blow up in the future... [/quot To be honest its a completely personal thing, depends on your meter, your lab, the subject, you're preferred 'look' Advising where to put the rating is impossible due to the variables
