Mark Dunn
I can't help you with your choice, but despite what you may think English is not widely spoken day-to-day in France, so without some French you won't get on well. Good luck anyway; France is a great place and a little French goes a long way.
Delphine Menoret
Hi, The two best national cinema schools in France are La Fémis and ENS Louis Lumière. I know that if you want to spend one year in Louis Lumière, you must already be in a film school that have an agreement with it, and there must be something similar about La Femis. Otherwise, you should take their entry exams, which are for their whole scholarship (3 years in Louis Lumière, 4 years in LaFémis...), and pretty difficult (there is a special exam for foreign students in La Fémis). I you wish i can give you some more information about these two schools, or others (private, or depending on french universities...) as far as I can (I know different people who did different schools...) Good luck! Delphine
