Leon Rodriguez
The director for my next picture wants me to put a Video Assist on my Arri 16BL. I want to do it with Rick and Mike over at Visual Products. Rick asked me if I had an APEC door since it apparently makes a difference in the mounting charge. How would I know if I had an APEC door? Any wisdom on this topic?
Premium Member John Sprung Posted January 11, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted January 11, 2008 IIRC, APEC was their built-in light meter. Arri Precision Exposure Control or some such acronym. The ones I used in the old days didn't have it. -- J.S.
Premium Member Tim Carroll Posted January 12, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted January 12, 2008 Close, it's ARRIFLEX Professional Exposure Control according to the undated ARRIFLEX 16BL brochure I have, and they were very excited about it as can be seen by the really large letters spelling out NEW in this brochure picture. The arrow is pointing to the APEC assembly on an Arriflex 16BL door: Visual Products takes the APEC assembly out and puts their video assist camera in it's place.
