Matt Duriez
I was just wondering if the 16:9 chip in the canon XL1s gives you true 16:9 or not??? I'm sure there's somebody out there who can answer my question
Alvin Pingol
The XL1S has two 16:9 modes; the first simply lays down white lines at the 16:9 edge boundaries so you can frame with later cropping in mind - the second, called "Electronic Anamorphic," just stretches the image. Both are simply manipulating a 4:3 image from 4:3 chips.
