It wouldn't be a bad idea to find a contrast glass for B&W. A wratten 90 gel filter will work well for B&W in that regard. It will help you judge when color, which would normally provide separation on color stock, will really blend together in B&W.

let's not forget La Dolce Vita.. anything by Bela Tarr...

but I guess its kind of hard to say which movies to watch unless you know the look.. so what look are you going for?

ultra-contrasty? film noir? grey and muddy? super-toned?
