New Reel

I don't normally as for feedback, as I don't normally consider myself up to par with a good deal of you on here. But, I just finally recut my reel (and got it down to about 3 minutes). I wanted to know what you all thought of it. It's a work in progress, this being V4.0 before I pull out some shots (when i get footage back) for V4.1. So, yes, let me know!

Maybe the music is a little too aggressive? I would cut out the first two shots, and start with the third, of the night interior with the fellow under the archway. Everything looks good up until the street scene with the blown out white wall overpowering the frame. Just use the close-up from that scene. Also, why use this boring night exterior that goes on forever and ever to close the reel? Just pointing out my negatives; there's a lot of good, crisp stuff in there.

I agree with the previous post - the third shot is a nice "in" to your reel. I don't think the music necessarily bothers me but I do think that the shot could be tightened up alot. Think of your reel, or montage, as the best of your best and then follow that montage with scenes from the movies. The montage is the tease... leave them wanting more. The scenes after hopefully satisfy that need and solidifies the deal.

So, I did a recut of the reel, took out some stuff, and I'm still working on it. I'm holding off of a full revamp until I get back some more footage and some free time; but I'd appreciate any minor tweaks which can just really help it out, just the small things ya know?

Everyone here who has and will comment, I thank you very deeply and I'd buy you a beer for your troubles were we not flung 'round the US and world on this forum.
