tony powell
Can anyone tell me if there is any noticeable difference between filming at 24p compared to 25p when trying to achieve a 'filmic' look, or between 25p & 50i ? (I am shooting in PAL) Thanks to anyone who can help, and apologies for the mistake in my original posting.
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted March 31, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 31, 2008 Visually there's no real difference between the frame rates, although converting 24P to PAL's 50i can cause problems depending on the method used. 25P will be the least problematic if you're shooting in PAL. Thomas Worth
As mentioned many times on this forum, 24fps and 25fps are pretty much interchangeable. The picture can be converted back and forth without recompression. Only the audio needs to be changed to match the difference in duration. The change in timing between the two is not noticeable. Dory Breaux DP
It seems like if you know what the diferance looks like, you'll find it. But, if you dont know what the diferance is, then you wont be able to tell. Thats just how it is for me tho.
