home work lighting glass

It looks like they light only the background avoiding the glass. Tha glass "appears lighting" because it is transparent. I don't see any reflection on the glass and look how the edge of the glass is dark... I don't think they use direct light on the glass but perhaps using bouncing lateral light avoid reflective light... BTW Rémy Martin great Cognac ;)

the trick to lighting glass, like all reflective surfaces is to light what they reflect, not the glass themselves. trying bringing some white cards in to bounce light off of. that will give you nicer highlights on the edges.
