I was just wondering if anyone knew what kind of camera Frederick Wiseman used in his early films like High School and Law & Order. Google fails me.

Most documenataries of the era were shot with the Eclair NPR, with a few on the Auricon. But, from the methods used to shoot High School in particular let me believe the Eclair is the likely canidate.

Fred Wiseman shot with NPR from 68 onwards, while Titicut Follies included Auricons based on the Leacock/Pennebaker mod'ing. One shouldn't forget that he and D.A. with Jean Rouch, Pierre Perrault and Albert Maysles - but I am sure you know that - where instrumental to get the Coutant NPR into the real world, plus the ACL/(Aaton) just two years later. Jean Rouch could tell beautiful stories about that! Terribly missed.
