I met him at the Barcelona Asian Film Festival in 2005 where he gave a masterclass. He showed up beer in hand and talked for about 2 hours. Not a word on gear or technique. Just life experience and craft. Very interesting talk. He actually mentioned that most of the stunning visuals for which he is most noted for, he discovered by accident. Being crazy and extrovert does not take away any of his talent or genius. I love his work and I love him as a person.
