Kirill Nersesyan
Hi all, I've got a Russian crew scheduled to start their shooting in NYC next week. I was wondering what papers should we acquire, if any, to allow them to cross the border trouble-free when they fly back home with the developed footage? If anyone knows the routine - please reply I will be very gratefull! Thanks in advance.
timHealy
"what's needed to travel with 10000 feet of film out of NYC?" I think all you will need is a big box. I have traveled several times to Europe and back with film and never had an issue. best Tim

Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted September 9, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted September 9, 2008 would it not be easier/cheaper to ship the developed footage back overseas, and then you can also insure it? I don't know about others, but I've often had my bags misplaced. . . If you're going carry on, shouldn't be too much of a problem, though; just bring paperwork to prove what it is, and the like, show where you bought it i would also assume, but I've flown with film before w/o indecent. Steve Wallace
I've been flagged at London Heathrow flying back to the States with undeveloped footage. I had to go to a room, and they waved these magic wands around the cans to make sure it wasn't anything bad. I told them it was film, and they didn't open it.
