Donald Hancock
Hello, I'm in need of help of putting together a nice camera package for an ongoing shoot for CET (Cincinnati's PBS Station). The piece basically is a series of interviews of people in the Cincinnati region who have had an impact on the community and the budget I'm working with is around $6500. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks. Donald
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 10, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 10, 2008 I personally like the EX1 if you need to do HD. . . That's a bit over budget, for you; though. HVX can also work and be had more cheaply but record times suffer Look into the new HVX 170 (it might be HPX) from Panasonic. If you just need SD, can't go wrong with a DVX or PD170 from Panasonic or Sony Respectively.
Donald Hancock
Adrian, I was leaning towards the HVX, but like you mentioned, I was concerned about the record time. I didn't even think about the EX-1 which would be great if I could add a little more to our budget. If I'm able to increase the budget than that will be what I go with, if not then I guess the HVX and shoot 720p. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
