Joeyearego
I am working on a video shooting with a VX2100. When we do a wide shot with the subject on the far left we just don't seem to be able to get a sharp focus. I am zooming into my subject and pulling back and I have tried to focus as I am wide. It seems in focus to me although the client feels it could be sharper. I am not sure what I can do to remedy the situation through the camera. Any suggestions would be great. I am attaching a screen capture to show the set up.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 25, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 25, 2008 This is SD, DV if I'm correct? I think that the problem might just be the inherent softness of the format. If you zoomed all the way in and focused there and then pulled back that's about as sharp as she'll get as far as I know. Joeyearego
When the client mentioned it to me I was confused by her calling it blurry. When I looked at the footage I thought that it looked normal. She had me doubting myself. I appreciate your input and thanks. Joe
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 25, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 25, 2008 Glad I could help in some way. To be safe, check the camera's focus on some things at known distances. Just to be safe. I always do that with my film camera when I have time (run a tape measure out from it and mark off 1 ft, 5 ft, 10 ft, etc. .
