Sean Conaty
I've read a lot of posts on here that it's possible using AE or Premiere to transfer the 30P footage to 24P, but has anyone actually posted links to sample footage? The footage on Canon's website and elsewhere looks fantastic but still reads like video to me. I'm curious if this is a function of it being 30P or the undeniable and inescapable fact that it's not film...
Thomas James
Of course with still motion 30p will look more like video than 24p but as soon as you add fast motion 30p will strobe just like film. Christophe Collette
Hey, have a look at this. http://vimeo.com/3162190/ Workflow is explained too. I own the camera but have not tried it yet. C
Premium Member John Sprung Posted March 24, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted March 24, 2009 Hey, have a look at this. The motion sure has some bumps in it. Not sure how much of that is display buffering, and how much is the 30 to 24 conversion. -- J.S.
Premium Member John Sprung Posted March 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted March 25, 2009 Today I just got a broadcast quality look at Digital Film Tree's options for handling this issue. Simple frame dropping and double imaging clearly don't work. But they have a couple others that produce the necessary in-betweens by making something that looks like motion blur on steroids. It looks like a 360 degree or more shutter angle for the synthesized frames only. Not as good as real 24 fps, but probably adequate to make the camera usable in some situations. -- J.S.
