Markshaw
5 grand is a lot to hand over. However working with a mentor that will go the extra mile for you is worth every cent.
Brian Hulnick
I'm all for film schools as long as they actually place you in a proper studio.
Daniel Jackson
That is what the preliminary interview is designed for. To check out what is actually being offered as opposed to whats been advertized. You don't like it, you don't sign on the dotted line...... Brian Hulnick
Some folks have a problem because there are fewer and fewer jobs in Film and the new guys are competing with the more established guys for these fewer jobs. Added to the fact that many of these new guys did not attend college/ University but a film school there's bound to be some friction.
Markshaw
As long as the person most suitably trained for the job gets the job that's fine. Not hired just because of some fancy diploma.
Brian Hulnick
That's why you really have to sell yourself. Prove to them that you can do the job.
Markshaw
If the person can do the job and can show he can do the job, then it shouldn't really matter if he has a degree or not.
Brian Hulnick
Fortunately this is a learn as you do business so many studios are prepared to take people on, on a trial basis. This is what I have been told anyway.
