PJBarry
Hi all, I'm looking for a film that will give me a little blur with action but is also good for slow-mo work. I realize that those go against each other but is there a happy median? Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks PJ
Mitch Gross
This has nothing to do with the film. It is about the shutter speed or shutter angle of the camera. But a sharper, tighter shutter and high speed photography means less light hitting your film, so you'll likely need a faster filmstock.
Filip Plesha
I think he ment that he does want a little bit of blur because he said that those things don't come together. And in reality, motion blur and slow motion don't come together. the slower the slow motion, the less blur you have. So i think he wants blur, and allso wants to shoot slow motion. Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted February 24, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted February 24, 2004 Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm going to start griping about this. Can we please start giving names? I appreciate that someone might not want to give more than a rough location, the internet being the insecure medium that it is, but I think it should be a cast-iron requirement that people use their names as their login ID. It doesn't tell you anything about the person, of course - you get an impression of that from what they're saying - but it at leasts let you know that people are taking things seriously. Filip Plesha
I will put my name if people on this forum think it is necesary. but i don't see the point actually, you can see whether someone is serious about what he is posting or is he making jokes or something just by reading his posts. but ok. Can i change the login name without registering as a new member or should i add signatures in every post?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted February 25, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2004 You can set it up so that a signature is added automatically, so you can leave your account as "Windman" but each post can automatically be signed with your name and city of origin. I prefer it when people use names because I don't feel someone is trying to hide behind a moniker -- it's more personable. I also tend to think that someone might think twice about saying something if their real name is attached. Or at least, it makes me feel that they might take responsibility for what they are saying. Plus maybe I'll run into you someday at a trade show or something!
Filip Plesha
Ok then,i'll set the signature... but it won't do you any good if i put my city because i live in south-easter Europe. Croatia,to be specific. And i doubt that i will ever see you at a trade show because i'm not a film professional nor did i ever shoot with a film camera in my life. PJBarry
I meant seperately, actually. I want blur for 24 fps action...but was also hoping the film could provide good for slow-mo work. Sorry I didn't explain that enough. PJ
