John Carreon
Hey Guys, I have worked with the RED camera before but it's been a while. I just got offered a job to 2nd AC on a shoot in a couple weeks and was hoping to brush up on the menus and user interface. Anybody shooting in or around Los Angeles next week that could use some free labor? An extra 2nd AC or Camera intern? I make a delicious cup of coffee. I'll even come label cases for you if you're prepping!!! I am a competent 2nd (I've been told) and would love to help you out while learning a little more about the camera. So the deal is you get an extra set of hands to help out and I ask you a few questions (when you're not busy) about the camera. Send me an e-mail if your interested... Thanks, John http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1410262/ (or I can e-mail you a more detailed resume if you'd like)
Jamie Metzger
If u are 2nd'ing, you won't need to know the menus. Ideally, you shouldn't be touching the camera. The catch 22, is that everyone is expected to know alot about reds, so start learning just incase the 1st needs help. Going to a local camera shop to do a build (call first and arrange a good time) will certainly help.
Daniel Madsen
This isn't as good as playing around with the camera, but menu guides like this one exist for every build. http://www.xlfilms.tv/2008/shared_images/X...Menu_Map_v1.pdf Also do a "Red" search at http://www.wonderhowto.com. There are a lot of good though pretty basic tutorials. Enjoy over breakfast. Dan
