The Firmware 1.1.0 was released today as stated by Canon.

Full manual mode works with adapted lenses too. I am very happy with this, so thanx to the Canon guys but also to the internet communities who "made them listen".

So, please post your experiences with the 1.1.0 firmware here.

Thanx Oliver

Nope, it just allows manual exposure control.

Should I assume this allows one to completely bypass the exposure lock (EL) workarounds in video mode? Right on! Now if only Nikon would do the same for the EL and Jello cam issues on the D90, that would be swell!

Firmware add-on by Hudson is here:

http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Download_firmware

It adds the following to Version 1.1.0 of Canons firmware

# On screen meters (very nice) while filming

# Zebra for showing overexposure while filming

# All auto gain sound is disabled

BUT

# Only the external mic input is supported

# HDMI, USB and composite video output are disabled

# Zebras can not be disabled, threshold is not configurable, color can not be changed

# Canon's onscreen menus will not function correctly

# Picture Style button will bring up an event viewer

# Digital zoom works again

# Button remapping is currently disabled

# ALC is disabled

# Digital gain is fixed at +12 dB

# Analog gain is set to +10 dB

# Windcut (highpass filter) is disabled

# Lowpass filter is enabled with default params

# EQ params are at the default settings

Please be careful, this is a public BETA!!!!

Hi,

I have a problem with the 5D (Firmware 1.1.0). I mounted a Kipon-adaptor for FD Lenses (no AF and no stop-control) on the cam (it works fine) and it seems, that the cam push the f-stop automatically when I film against lights etc. Anybody an idea how this can be? Does the chip automatically blend up and down? I have no idea, but it sucks...

Thanks

Alex
