Premium Member Jay Young Posted August 22, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted August 22, 2009 So, as I was browsing through some junk store today, and I found this Kodak XL340, new in box. $5 later, I had batteries in it and everything works. Anyone tried out this little camera? All I know so far is that it's 18fps, auto exposure, and I think the lens is an f1.8. While it won't do for my sync sound needs, has anyone used this? Thoughts? Robert Hughes
A word of caution - some of the Kodak XL cameras used a plastic main gear that over the years degrades ("turns to cheese", some users say) and gets ruined by use. Before you wreck your camera you may want to open it up and see if the main gear (a big round thing) is plastic, and if so you may want to look around for a replacement made of nylon or metal.
