Prep for Transfer

The film needs to be cleaned & gash stock added front & end for handling / lacing on the TK.

You need to look at the total price your paying, some itemise the bills, others mot.

The Labs in Switzerland even charge time taken to splice the rolls together, processing costs roughly double of London! but they have much less volume, they run the bath to order, whilst you wait if you want (1.25 hours including cleaning)

My lab charges extra for prepping the negative to be transfered/telecine, and i was wondering if this was really necessary.

What does the prep do for the film?

Why not just take the film straight from processing and telecine it?

Thanks-

Nick
