HPX-170 tripod mount off center

Anyone else bothered by the underside of the HPX-170? If I put it on my Chrosziel 450-10 mattebox the rods don't line up with the lens. This has also made lining it up with the Letus kind of a headache.

What I'm looking for is kind of like a cheeseplate but with threaded holes for screwing into rather than open holes for bolts. Ideally, instead of stainless steel, both sides would have grippy rubber and lots of different holes for realining an offcenter tripod mount. The key is for it to be a wide surface area so it won't allow the camera to slide around, as well as being thin as too much thickness throws off the height with a chrosziel 450-10 mattebox which has very limited adjustability. My guess is Zacuto probably makes something like this but it's likely hundreds of dollars. There has to be a cheaper alternative. Any ideas?
