Steven Wyatt
Hi everyone, Just a query, does any have any experience with utilising 35mm stills zooms for motion picture production? I'm thinking of adding to my Canon FD line of primes a 35-105mm zoom with a macro function. Does any body know of the quality of these lenses? All experiences and thoughts welcome. Regards, Steve

Premium Member Chris Keth Posted September 26, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted September 26, 2009 I would tend to advise against it unless your budget doesn't allow for anything else. They are usually slow, difficult to pull focus with, and breathe even more than stills primes.
Steven Wyatt
Hi Thanks for the comments, I only really intend to use the zoom for outdoor work being a f3.5 lens I don't think it would be practical to shoot consistently indoors with. With breathing and slow aperture aspects aside would image quality be comparable with the FD primes? Thanks, Regards, Steve
