Lance Tang
Ok so I have a little bit of understanding of what are "manual controls," but I still don't know too much. I've heard that most consumer grade HD cameras do have some manual controls, but not enough to learn the trade. So what do professional cameras have that consumer grade cameras do not? If I don't have the budget to buy a professional camera, can I still learn cinematography using a consumer grade HD camera? Or would I be wasting my time and money? Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 5, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2009 Focus/Iris/Zoom, should all be manual and preferably all rings on the lens. Same goes for things like Gain, and White Balance which should either be toggle switches, or if worst to worst controls in an easily accessible menu.
