Vinod Raja
I have filmed some material using the canon 5D at 30 frames NTSC , now we have to convert all the material to PAL . will be a great help if anyone has the experience doing it. We have tried some conversions but its adding jitters and noise. thanks .
Premium Member John Sprung Posted December 8, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted December 8, 2009 There are two approaches: 1. Take it to a post facility that can convert it using Arri Relativity, Teranex, etc. This will be the best quality, but at the highest price. 2. Do it using a computer and software such as Twixtor, which merely copies three frames across, then makes a blur-between of the next two. It depends on your budget and the purpose of your video. -- J.S.
David Williams
Another method is to simply retime the material to play 16.666* slower at 25fps. Depends greatly on what you've shot, audio, etc, but sometimes it can work really well. No lost or interpolated frames.

Thanks for your suggestions Mr. John Sprung. Arri Relativity and Teranex have to be ruled out because of budgets, the Twixtor option we have tried out, takes a lotg of machine time. best vinod -- J.S.
