Patrick Barry
Hey all, I'm using an Angenieux zoom lens (15 to 150) on an old Eclair ACL, shooting on black and white reversal (if it makes a difference). In my past shorts, I've always just zoomed in all the way with my zoom lens (using a different camera and lens), focused and zoomed back out to my preferred framing and have never had a problem. I know thats not the proper way to do things, but bare with me here. On this shoot, I've been working the same way and notice that some of the footage has come back with a little soft focus. Does anyone have any recommendations as to why his may be? Thanks!!
Tom Jensen
Either the camera flange is off or the lens needs collimating. Check the camera flange first. You can still shoot with both. Just stay on the long end because of the increased depth of focus with telephoto.
