I never cease to be amazed how many people assume that the codec-o-the-moment (DNx, prores, red's latest permutation of JPEG-2000) are "uncompressed". Less compressed, sure, but to be honest there are standard def formats that shoot more bitrate than a Canon DSLR. This is a prime example of the sort of dispiriting malaise that's fallen over a lot of technical fields. What, you can't cut uncompressed 4K on your Macbook?
