Brandon Whiteside
I'm trying to find out which stock these two films were shot on. Is there a website listing all of the stocks used in films?
K Borowski
Probably EXR. As with almost all films of this period LIGHTING, FILTRATION, and maybe (probably not in these cases) special processing/flashing techniques affect the look. The stock itself could be made to do all sorts of things, just like the current Vision2/3 lines. If you want a higher-contrast stock, look into 5280 or Vivid 160 for extra snap, or a slight push on a more-modern stock.
Brandon Whiteside
What kind of filtration would one use to achieve the look?
K Borowski
For what particular parts of the movie? They don't look identical to me, and there certainly was a different between flashback, dream scenes and the rest of the films. Even if I had them both fresh in mind, I couldn't say for certain. Do you have access to ASC magazine? I'm sure both are probably discussed therein.
Micah Kovacs
I can get you an answer on the Jumanji stock if you give me a few hours. I'll just ask Tom himself.
