Canon 8-64 S16 on EX3

Recommended Posts

Guest jakgeoff

Hi....I am about to buy an EX3 and have a Canon 8-64 S16 lens I used to use on the Aaton. Can you guys tell me what the multipler factor is and how feasable it is to get an Aaton to EX3 adaptor made up. Or is it more cost effective to dump the Aaton mount and use another, such as PL. Thx

You need to use a lens designed for use on 3 chip cameras. There is a colour splitting optical block in the EX3, the 8 to 64 works fine with single sensor cameras like the SI 2K or the RED shooting 2k, however, it's not designed for use with one of these blocks. You can use the 2/3" video lens that the film lens was originally derived from.
