Background replacement

I am sure this isnt new, but I want to share it and make sure that its fresh in mind when needed. I recently had a shot looking out a big kitchen window, we had a terrible location. Forest surrounded us but the owner of the location had a bunch of garbage and tools and ugly plants outside. It did not look nice on camera. I usually have some big mirrors on my shoots, and this is the first time Id used a mirror for background replacement. Outside of the window, I angled the mirror as to see trees and mountains, and we now had a nice background in the shot. Big mirrors needed for big windows. You have to lock the mirror down so it does not shake at all. Give it a try, wish I had pictures to show. It was a better solution (run and gun style production) than diff or blacking out the window. Or shifting the camera so that we had a bad shot inside.
