Dailies

Hi Everyone,

Forgive the stupid question but what is meant when someone has put 'Dailies' on their CV.

For example: Focus Puller, B Camera Dailies

Many Thanks,

Daz

He probably meant "day player" not "dailies", which means he wasn't working for the entire show but only on days he was called in to work. If he didn't specify that and just wrote "B-camera focus-puller" you'd assume he was the focus-puller for the whole show but perhaps he actually only worked one day on it!

That's exactly it, and I've seen a lot of CVs where they put "dailies" and not "day player". I didn't know what that was until I moved to Ireland, because back in Italy you put the projects you've worked on on your resume, whether it was for the whole show or for only a day or two, but apparently here (and in the UK as well) it's not uncommon to specify. I had someone ask me why would anyone put on their resume the fact they were going to see dailies :-)

p.s. Hey Darren, nice to see you around here, welcome to cinematography.com!
