David Mullen ASC Sustaining Member Share Posted June 10, 2011 http://www.salon.com/entertainment/movies/feature/2011/06/10/just_dont_get_it_supercut/index.html A montage of movies with the cliche dialogue phrase, "You just don't get it, do you?" I know this guy was pretty thorough looking through stuff because near the end at the 6:20 mark is a scene from a no-budget vampire movie I shot nearly a decade ago! Odd thing is that all the examples are from modern movies, I wonder how many classic movies used the phrase.
Doug Frerichs Share Posted June 11, 2011 I saw this one awhile ago: Not as long but still so many. I can't imagine how they even get all of these together
Dom Jaeger Share Posted June 11, 2011 Certainly not as annoying as a hackneyed dialogue phrase, but this sound effect has been used countless times: That compilation only uses relatively recent films, it was first recorded back in 1951. I have to admit it's a pretty classic scream. Here's it's history: http://www.hollywoodlostandfound.net/wilhelm/ I don't suppose it was used in that no-budget vampire movie, David? ;)
