7d or jvc 200

Hi I am preparing to shoot a short film. not to transferred to film I am between to use a canon 7d with 24 – 135 zoom lens and jvc gy hd 110 . I really don’t need the 7ds depth of field for this project so the only comparisons are between lenses and codec’s I need your opinion. Jvc goes with 3.5 wide zoom lens.

Are you shooting on the 200 or the 110U? Cause the 110U only shoots up to 720p, not 1080, but if you're doing handheld work without a Steadicam or shoulder mount, it's gonna be harder to use the 7D than the shoulder mounted JVC's. Also, with the 7D's shallow DOF, sometimes its difficult to keep the scene in focus where you want it unless you have a 1st AC working with you.
