anchorlessfilms
I'm an independent doc and narrative shooter looking to pick up a S35 PL Zoom to shoot docs on. Any suggestions? best, R Edited July 17, 2011 by Ryan Nethery
Brian Drysdale
It depends what you call affordable, but I guess the RED 17- 50mm or the older version 18 - 50mm. There has been a large thread on CML about this subject on doc zooms for the F3 and no real definitive answer.
Nick Gardner
The russian 25-80 is a great doc lens for 35mm sized sensor cameras. It was made by Ekran, then there was an optar version, and now I believe it is sold by Elite. 2 pounds, t3ish and very sharp. Nick Gardner
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted August 7, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted August 7, 2011 If it doesn't have to be handholdable, an old Cooke 18-100mm or 20-100mm might be affordable. Otherwise, you may have to look into adapted still camera zooms if small size and low cost are more important to you.
