Matt Stevens
Superb colors and low low grain. How I would love to see an uncompressed version of this. One can only imagine how good it would look. MOONRAKER was the first 007 film I watched. i was 8 years old, I believe. It was awesome to me. Now I think it's laughable. But it has its moments. Watch this on YouTube in 720p, not here, as it is squished.
Claus Harding
That does look outstanding. Even in 720 the compression is quite ugly, though, so yes, only a 1080 upload could give one a better idea of the ultimate quality of the footage. But it certainly is stable and sharp with lovely color. Edited December 30, 2011 by Claus Harding
Premium Member Will Montgomery Posted December 30, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted December 30, 2011 I think we're entering a wonderful year for Super 8 film scanning. That does look amazing; almost TOO good.
Claus Harding
Will, My first thoughts, after the amazement, was: are we sure this is not 16....?
Matt Stevens
I thought the same thing. But it says 8mm, so.... 8mm it is.
ignacio benedeti
Fantastic ciné document! The less grainy 8 mm stock those times was Kodachrome but skin tones and yellows on this filmation don´t seems Kodachrome, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing. ignacio benedeti
Yes, it´s gorgeous Kodachrome! I can read the trade mark in the edge of the film. Many thanks! CINEcerely, Ignacio
