Steve Ting
Hey all! this is my first post on this forum. I use to have a canon super 8mm camera but recently on a local auction site (I'm based in New Zealand) I managed to pick up a nice Beaulieu 4008 zm2 with a working original battery and battery pack adaptor. After a bit of research and deciding I do not like electronic zooms, I removing the silly auto controls off the lens. Everything seems to be working fine with the camera and I'll be ordering another battery or battery pack soon for it. However I do have one question. When I look through the viewfinder and press the back trigger I get a light reading..however as soon as I push the film advance trigger the meter arrow drops a couple of stops...is this normal? Bjorn Andersson
Most probably there is some powering problem. If the needle drop when camera start running the power consumption from battery for driving motor is far to high. Battery can be bad or/and the camera need a overhaul with cleaning and re-oil. Test to see if you have same needle drop in TEST position.
