Robert Smak
Hello, I will be transferring and I have dilema which school to choose. UT at Austin TX has a great film program, but UNT at Denton TX is cheaper and has good reputation too. Any opinions from cinematographer's point of view at these schools. It's hard to find any relevant reviews online. From the knowledge I gathered on the internet and by asking people who are present students at UT Austin. Very briefly: RTF program at the University of Texas at Austin means lots of connections, but less opportunities to get your hands on, less opportunities with internships, you have to work very hard by yourself if you want to have your projects done. RTVF program at the University of North Texas at Denton has more opportunities with internships and scholarships as well, you have practice in the public TV, it's cheaper. Probably UT has slightly better equipment, but I'm not sure about that. I know UT will be purchasing Arri Alexa for grad students but it means nothing. What are your opinion guys? Anybody attended, or is studying now at any of the universities? Thanks, Rob
Adam Johnson
Austin is a great movie town. Denton is basically Austin-lite. If you're in Texas (Hello!) visit both. I've never been to UT but UNT is a nice school, nice town, cheaper than Austin but still "weird."
