Marc Roessler
Hi, I just noticed my 16mm Angenieux 5.9mm doesn't seem to have filter threads.. Visual Products lists the same lens type for sale as having a 93mm front thread (here: http://www.visualproducts.com/storeProductDetail02.asp?productID=73&Cat=3&Cat2=16). Has the lens they offer been customized to have this filter thread? Or are there different versions of this lens? Greetings, Marc
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted October 15, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted October 15, 2012 The lens itself doesn't have filter threads and the front diameter is only 75mm. Angenieux made a clip-on hood (engraved R7) that fits over the front of the lens which has a 93mm front thread. It's not pictured in the Visual Products ad. Guest Glenn Brady
The Angénieux press-on lens hood/filter holder for the 5.9mm lens can be fitted with a spacer that allows the use of readily available series 9 filters. The spacer I've got is made of Delrin and is sold by Whitehouse A/V (see http://www.whitehouseaudiovisual.com/index.html).
