Suggestions for belt

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone-

I'm a Chicago-based filmmaker. I kinda do a little bit of everything; and lately, I've also been picking up a lot of AC work. I'm finally getting to the point where I need to put a small belt together alongside my AC kit. Nothing huge. I want to keep it light. So - I had a few questions regarding the belt itself. (not accessories and tools.)

I really like the Arri 3" Padded belt: http://www.filmtools.com/arri-belt-1004-ar.html

However, a lot of the Lindcraft pouches I'd like to get only support 2" belts:

My questions are:

1. Has anyone owned/tried this particular belt? From the looks of it, it looks like it may support 2" pouches as well, but I can't find any confirmation on this.

2. Any suggestions for a 2" belt that is similar to the Arri one above? I really want the good padding because I'm a skinny guy and after a while a regular belt would start to hurt. I also really like the Arri because it has the extra loops which would be excellent for my uses.

I've looked at the Lindcraft 2", but it has less padding and no loops:

Any suggestions on other brands that have similar options? Thanks!

I've been using a 1.5'' un-padded belt (like this one http://www.sourceshop.com/product.asp?pid=94) and it's quite comfortable to work with. I've used padded belts before and find them a little too bulky for me and a bit over kill for camera pouches which tend to be a bit more light weight then say a grip pouch.

Thanks! Actually, that was one thing I forgot to ask. I wondered if it would bee too bulky. That's definitely something I want to avoid.
