David Cunningham
So multiple sources confirm that Velvia 50 will be going the way of the E100D and the DoDo. Time to stock up! Although the still format will remain available, custom bulk orders used to make Wittner Chrome 50 and Spectra Velvia 50 will no longer be accepted. So, limited supplies are all that remains. Premium Member Alessandro Machi Posted June 27, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted June 27, 2013 Although the Kodak Vision III 50 ASA is an excellent replacement, for those who clamored for a reversal stock this is a huge imminent loss.
Richard Hadfield
If you want to shoot Fuji Velvia 100D, it is still available here: http://thereelimage.jimdo.com/our-web-showroom/Just get yourself an .03 ND filter. The grain on the Velvia 100D is even finer that the 50D according to theFuji Film Data Guide:http://www.fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/ProfessionalFilmDataGuide.pdf Edited June 27, 2013 by Richard Hadfield

Were you able to confirm that this is the Velvia 100 not the Astia?

Jamie Frazer Noakes
This is a bummer - it seems like Colour Reversal Super 8 is already out of reach to many. The prices on the Wittner website have rocketed in the past few weeks to silly prices. Most resellers are only selling process paid - which is understandable as they want to keep their business alive - but compared to prices this time last year a roll of colour reversal super 8 now costs nearly 3 times as much for your initial outlay before shooting. This is quite prohibitive.

It's really sad... it's almost driven the cost up so much that it's no longer cheaper to shoot reversal for projection only than just shooting negative and having it scanned. Heikki Repo
Well, shooting color reversal for projection is still a very viable path, but you have to do it in 16mm, not super-8... Can't wait to have 16mm AGFA for testing next month! Paid only about $260 incl. VAT 19% for 1200 ft. and could have cost even less, had our order been larger. Well Heikki, you have a point, but it only makes sense if you shoot 16, and l don't. This is super 8, and as far as this format is concerned colour reversal preloaded cartridges are no longer affordable. I will shoot b/w for as long as l can for work l want to project, and shoot colour neg when required for projects that will be edited digitally. Richard Hadfield
What do people that post here think would be an acceptable price for 1 roll of color reversal film? The least expensive in the USA, seems to be AGFA 200D, where 1 roll is available at Dwayne's and The Reel Image for around $25.00, Velvia 100D is $31.50. at the Reel Image.Pro8mm offers the AGFA 200D film and processing for $45.00, Edited June 28, 2013 by Richard Hadfield
Pavan Deep
I am hopeful that prices will get better, but at the moment shooting Super 8 is not as cheap as it was, currently 16mm is working out a lot cheaper. P
