Justin Hong Posted December 1, 2013 Share Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Hi everyone. Recently I moved to LA because I got an unpaid internship at a really cool camera rental house. I've been at this internship for 3 weeks and it's been nothing short of awesome. I greet ACs, maintain equipment, and I've gotten friendly enough with the staff to go into the equipment room and setup anything to my liking. I've setup basic Epic and Alexa packages and it's been truly cathartic. But I'm nervous about a couple of things. Firstly, I know that my passion in film definitely lies in the camera department. I'm not sure if my talents line up with being a DoP or becoming an AC or a DIT, but I do know that being a camera PA is a good place to start. Secondly, I want to find paid work and I don't know where to look to do that- I'm trying to work on my networking skills and sometimes I just get nervous.
