Freya Black
This was a bit of a shock: http://www.redsharknews.com/production/item/1374-a-gopro-anamorphic-lens-adaptor-for-$199 Freya
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted January 7, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2014 Now if only people would start making super affordable Anamorphic lenses in canon mount-- then we'd all go crazy-- probably... maybe not. Still it's an interesting little piece of kit. And certainly helps if you're trying to shoot a gopo into a 2.40 project-- saving ever precious pixel. Darrell Ayer
If you look at the market, $2k for a 4k resolvable anamorpic adapter is affordable. Since you'd pay $1k for a soft anamorphic adapter that's standard def...
Travis Gray
Demo footage if anyone is curious. Not much on YouTube, and "letus" turns up results with lettuce in it. Was wondering what it would look like with the already wide lens distortion. Not horrible.

Darrell Ayer
Letus is setting themselves up as the quality consumer anamorphic source. Though lately it seems Oprah is in charge. Anamorphic for your iPhone, Anamorphic for your GoPro, Anamorphic for your SLR!!! And I am NOT complaining.
Travis Gray
Practical question: In Final Cut 7, is there an option to desqueeze and actually get the right resolution? I think I tried looking one day to set up a sequence like that but couldn't find a setting for it, and I think manually putting in the resolution didn't work right. Maybe I did something wrong, it had been a while, but is this possible? Seems pointless to do anamorphic if you end up with 1920x1280 anyway (well, besides the lens resolution). But, right? Or am I wrong in this thinking. Is there another NLE that can handle that?
