Jason Mann
I have a Bolex H-16 reflex that's in rough shape. (It's a sad, sad Ebay story...) Some rust and lots of dings, but the motor still runs. Could be really useful for anyone looking for parts, especially since the interior seems much better than the outside of the camera. I would love for someone to get some use out of this thing, and I won't. Fifty bucks? Make me an offer...
Mike Lary
A friend of mine is trying to locate a replacement shutter for his Bolex H16. Is your shutter in good shape? What year is your model?
Jason Mann
I think the shutter is fine, it runs anyway. I don't know the year, but the serial number is 185740. Would that work for your friend? Lemme know, I'll try to take a pic or two for you. A friend of mine is trying to locate a replacement shutter for his Bolex H16. Is your shutter in good shape? Mike Lary
My friend's model is a non-reflex from the sixties. If you can send a pic or two of yours I can figure out what year it is and whether or not the shutter is the same. I'm not sure if there's a way to figure it out with just the serial number, but I'll look into that. Thanks, Mike
Nate Downes
I believe the Rex and non-reflex'd models have different shutter designs. Similar, yes, but just different enough to be annoying. They had to move the shutter back a little bit to fit the reflex prism into the camera, IIRC.
