Hi,

I'm the owner of a Debrie (Sinmor) 16mm camera that was owned by the Swedish Televison.

My intenstion is to sell it but if this isn't the right place could someone guide me where would be the best place to find a buyer?

Thanks!

PS I only shoot analog still photography :)

I think eBay internationally is the best medium for selling. Set the price or first bid at the value you place (guess) on it. Not less ! Then drop a note about the listing on forums like this one. Give as much info about the camera and its history as you can.

Cheers,

Gregg

Hi Ola,

that's a bit of a rare beast, I'm sure there would be interest from serious camera collectors out there.

Debrie were world leaders in professional cinematographic equipment for decades, this was one of the very last things they made before closing shop in the late 60s. It's a single-sound camera first released in about 1961 I think, competitor to the Bach Auricon models. Very expensive at the time, nearly $5000 compared to under $2000 for a standard Auricon Pro. I don't think too many got made.

It had some very unusual features, including separate feed and take-up magazines, and a Debrie-patented V shaped gate that was meant to increase stability without the need for pin registration or a pressure plate. I'd love to see close-up photos of it!

I'm curious what the lens mount was, any chance of photos of that on the camera or of the mount on the lenses?

I would suggest either selling it on Ebay internationally as Gregg said or perhaps even contacting one of the auction houses that specialise in rare photographic equipment, like Westlicht.

Gregg and Dom, thanks a lot for helping me. Westlicht is a good idea or even LP-foto auctions here in Sweden. I don't know what lens mount it has as all this is new to me.

Do you have any clue on how much I should estimate to get for it?

I found some indications at Collectiblend but not sure how correct those are.
