Bill Kerrigan
I'm building a dolly to carry my camera and lighting gear, and I'd like to use quality pneumatic caster wheels. Can anyone recommend someone who is knowable or the best source or the brand to buy. Edward Lawrence Conley III
I recommend Foam Filled- they cost a little more but you'll never have to worry about them. http://www.castercity.com/foam-filled-pneumatic-casters.htm Not sure the cost of shipping up north but I imagine Canada has a supplier of casters/wheels. John David Miller
The key is to make sure you get casters that easily handle the max weight of your cart and the punishment your crew will put it through. I don't really care for foam filled casters, they make a heavy cart tougher to push and maneuver and they get flat spots if your cart sits for a few weeks. I like an overbuilt caster with a high PSI in the tires. http://m.grainger.com/mobile/product/HAMILTON-Swivel-Pneumatic-Caster-WP98267/_/N-ir4?fromPidp=true You only have to pay for quality once...
