Josiah Prigg
Hey there, has anyone ever used Carl Zeiss lenses, I would love to hear on what they're like to use ? Thank you
Zac Fettig
I've used some older Zeiss lenses for 16mm cine and some Zeiss (and Zeiss Jena) 35mm still lenses. They're generally excellent, and are certainly at least on par with any other comparable lens in the world. The older East German Jenas can have build quality issues, but typically are excellent optically.
Jeff L'Heureux
I own a set of Zeiss Superspeeds and they are a great set of glass. This article is exactly accurate as to how they operate/behave: http://www.cinematechnic.com/resources/zeiss_super_speed_f1,2_lenses.html
Stuart Brereton
If you're talking about Standard or Superspeeds, they have been an industry workhorse for many years. If you're working on a budget, they are most likely the lenses you'll be renting. Very sharp, although they tend to fall apart wide open. Great range of focal lengths, and the Super Speeds are fast enough for any occasion.
