Guest
I could not agree more. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/video/imax-scam-040000933.html So many movies are coming out branded as "IMAX" and yet it is nothing of the sort. There is a huge amount of empty space and the top and bottom of the screen as the movie is projected if more of a 16x9 format vs the more 4x3 format of true IMAX. This is what you see when you see a movie in a proper IMAX theatre that was actually shot in the IMAX format, like at Cinesphere in Toronto. They often show "regular" movies on the IMAX screen at Cinesphere and all you get is a slightly larger image, with a huge amount of unused screen space at the top and bottom. Silly. cole t parzenn
They could have at least used 5/70 projection... couldn't they have? Edited August 28, 2014 by cole t parzenn
